William Wittbold, Senior Director of Operations at Pace®, has an extensive CMC background with emphasis on large molecule formulation/sustained release as well as analytical method development. He also has a strong background in biopharmaceutics. Wittbold has a particular interest in first-principle characterization of antibodies by SEC-MALS, and his passion for improving medicine for greater patient comfort and compliance pulled him toward a career in life sciences.

Wittbold’s previous work includes, most recently, his role as the Director of Analytical Technologies at Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services where he engaged in tech transfers and phase appropriate method development as well as driving change through lab systems software and process improvements. There, he also gained experience in leadership and project management.

Wittbold’s other previous engagements include two years as a Customer Service Manager and nearly 10 years as an Application Scientist at Wyatt Technology, as well as a Process Development Associate at Altus Pharmaceuticals.

Wittbold holds a BS and MS degree in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He also earned a certificate in Biotechnology Product Management from the University of Washington and a certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University.
